Dream On, formally known as FutonAir, started out in one of our favorite neighborhoods - Central Square, Cambridge, MA. Where we were located for over 20 years in a 2200 square foot space. During our first years we worked all day selling futons, then followed our successful retail day with some stitching and stuffing in the basement. In those glory days we would work all night hand making our own futons to deliver the next day to our local clients.

As with all things, times changed and the blur of the internet came upon us. We ventured out and opened a small facility in Medford, MA to warehouse, support and ship to all our clients nationwide. Prior to the boom of the superstores swooping in on the small speciality businesses like ours, our internet business blossomed! We shipped over 15 pieces a day as far away as Puerto Rico and other Carribean islands! Our Medford location also provided our local clients with a discount outlet and local pickup.

Five years ago, unexpectedly, our landlord on Mass Ave asked us kindly to move on. Saddened, we bit the bullet and waved goodbye to what was for many of us our home for 15 years! We wanted to stay in Cambridge, yet we could not locate any retail spaces close to our home in Central Square, so we found the next best thing - INMAN SQUARE! We nestled into our new location on Prospect Street during the cold months of that same winter and reopened our new 10,000 square foot store. Striving for efficency, we combined both locations into one.

As you can imagine, we were frightened and excited at the same time. Not only did we have our own parking lot (No MORE PARKING TICKETS!), we had an enormous retail space to fill with furniture. Futons, of course, would be our main staple, but what else could we offer the community?

Many of the existing staff had been with the company for over 12 years and the discussions raged on. We had gotten older, gotten married, and now many of us had children. We did extensive research and discovered the community did not have a retailer that offered sturdy, locally made furniture for kids! VIOLA! Hence we started offering a full line of children's furnishings and home goods for the entire family - our new company motto! Plus, instead of a few mattresses, we now offer more than 30 different choices of locally made organic and traditional mattresses, as well as entire bedroom suites for every member of your family.

For over 20 years Dream On has specialized in Futons! Known for offering some of the highest performance futon frames, mattresses and covers available in the industry. Custom sizes and shapes with a flair for contemporary textiles are what we do best!

Our new line of Children's Speciality furniture includes modular units that will adapt to your growning child. Many of our children's products can be manipulated from standard twin size safety beds to a loft or bunk bed!
