Thin cotton or cotton/wool futons are recommended for authentic feel. May be used with any of our Futons. (Shipping & handling fees $75 and up). Please note all tatami mats are light green initially and will change color over time. HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR TATAMI MATS: Please remember to keep your tatami dry to avoid possible mildew of grass from humidity. Do not use wet cleaners if possible. It is recommended to bring tatami mats out every 4 months to dry in the hot sun if possible. If your home is damp invest in a product like a dehumidifier to protect your tatami. You can freshen and protect by lightly dusting the mats with some cornstarch. Just like a mattress, rotate periodically. And remember never to walk on your tatami with shoes |
