Massachusetts is one of the states at the forefront in encouraging the recycling of mattresses. With major landfills quickly running out of space, discarded mattresses have become a thorn in landfill operators sides. How big a thorn? A single mattress can take up to 23 cubic feet in space! In just one day at a landfill up to 300 old mattresses and box springs arrive for burial. If you laid them end-to-end, they would stretch more than a third of a mile! For just ONE DAY! Old mattresses don't go away that easily!

As a warning to all consumers, please think twice before picking up that 'free' mattress or box springs left on the side walk. Bed bug infestation is on the rise! The pesky little creatures can hide not only in mattresses & box springs, but in futons, sofas, clothing, even appliances!

For health reasons Dream On is no longer handling mattress, box spring or futon recycling. We wish to maintain our sanitary facility; the safety of our customers and staff is our top priority!

We at Dream On encourage the recycling of your old mattress, box spring or futon. Please do NOT fill up our already over-full landfills! RECYCLE!
